SINGING LESSONS
AT THE PRACTICE
Charlie-Jade is an experienced and sought-after singing teacher. She is currently completing an MSc Performance Science at the Royal College of Music where her research areas are across Performance Psychology and Performing Artists’ Health and Well-being. Away from research, Charlie-Jade trained in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music, and holds a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music in Singing Teaching with Distinction.
Regularly engaging in continued professional development, Charlie-Jade observes in NHS Voice Clinics with specialist ENT Laryngologists, and Speech and Language Therapists. In addition, she develops her practice engaging with the work of leading pedagogues including Janice Chapman, Dr Ron Morris and Jeanie LoVetri, as well as informing her practice through collaboration with physiotherapists and osteopaths. With this in mind, it may be important to note that Charlie-Jade does not teach according to one particular system, but combines her knowledge and understanding of systems across physiology and psychology to deliver bespoke training for each individual. This ensures that her students are equipped with a healthy vocal system that can be used efficiently and sustainably.
Charlie-Jade is a singing teacher at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and LAMDA, and is also the external specialist teacher of Musical Theatre Voice for Royal Holloway, University of London. Charlie-Jade is a recommended singing teacher for Morwenna Peston Management, one of London’s leading theatrical agencies, and her clients from The Practice have been seen in productions such as EVITA (Leicester Curve), Beetlejuice (Norwegian Cruise Lines), and Sister Act (UK Tour).
Harmoniously bridging her work across science and art, Charlie-Jade continues her work as a singer-actor, understanding the importance of combining emotional and musical instinct with a well-rounded technique, and ensuring that her students strike that balance. Her performance highlights includes, Gertie Phorylles in the European Premier of Marc Blitzstein’s No For An Answer (Arcola Theatre), the 10th Anniversary of Howard Goodall’s Love Story (Cadogan Hall), Iola Stover in the 5* immersive revival of Jason Robert Brown’s Parade (Frogmore Paper Mill), and session and concert vocals at Abbey Road Studios, and with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and London Musical Theatre Orchestra. WHAT CLIENTS SAY
“I have been taught by Charlie-Jade for over three years including throughout my training, and she has given me so much confidence in myself and my vocal abilities. Our lessons are fun and uplifting, and Charlie always makes sure each lesson is catered to me specifically so I come away having grown as a singer after every lesson. I highly recommend having lessons with Charlie-Jade, my training wouldn’t have been the same without her! The best training! :):

“I had previously worked with Charlie-Jade in a show and sought her help after I came out of a rock heavy musical theatre contract and was feeling rather blocked in my versatility and range, along with having natural voice changes. I was at an unsteady place with my voice and Charlie helped me start on the right path in rediscovering and eventually freeing up my voice and range in different styles. Always positive and knowledgable, Charlie was able to identify my blocks very quickly and helped me understand my voice and gain confidence back”

Dance Attic Studios, Fulham Broadway (as well as online if required).

Ultimately there is benefit to both. Online is often easier to fit into your day and most private students to have regular lessons online via zoom. The recommendation is to have an Ethernet cable to plug into your WiFi, or if this is not possible, ensure you are in close proximity to your wifi connection. There is an option to have lessons face and this can be discussed when booking. Locations are either in Central or West London.

Frequently is always best however this isn’t always possible for a variety of reasons. All I ask is that if you are a new student you have lessons weekly or bi-weekly for your first 5/6 lessons. This is so that we can get a solid foundation of working together and you are able to see development. After this point, every 3-4 weeks can be beneficial to maintain, especially if you are choosing a 45 minute or 1 hour lesson.

Due to high demand, lessons cancelled without 48 hours notice will still be charged.
